I love the tale that Fido tells and the set up of how you meet Fido. The character sprite for Fido is also fun (the art style is lovely!).

Thank you!

Fido has such a fun, scrappy design, and I enjoyed listening to his story. I like that he turns out to be friendly and not, as you might anticipate, a deceitful fey creature.

In the future I would have enjoyed a hand-drawn background to go with the hand-drawn character!

Thanks! I did try to draw the background but nothing was turning out too well, so I ended up editing a picture instead. If I make a full game I would draw my own backgrounds though :)

Quite liked this! I like the art of Fido a lot. The dialogue is fun. I definitely see the constraints of the jam, but I think that ultimately just means Fido is a compelling creature in an interesting world - and thus I must ask for a longer experience with Fido in the future should you ever feel like making it!

Thank you for playing my game!! I hope to create a longer visual novel with more stories soon!

I am very much looking forward to it!!!

Aww Fido is so cute! I'd love to meet them again one day and having more of these cosy evenings together with their tales! It's such a fun experience! Congrats for the release!

Thank you! I'd love to make more stories of them too :-)!

I played the game! First, I really enjoyed the crackling sounds, the overall atmosphere and Fido's design!! It was so pretty, aaaah! And their personality is too!

But now, WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT????? I need to know more!! I need to see more!!!!! They can't just disappear like that? I suppose they're some sort of night creature who can't be outside during the day but?? I need to know all of their stories!! But on a more serious note, it reminds me of the fantastic genre (in the literature sense): like, has it really happened? Was it a dream? Then why is there a compass? This doubt, this uncertainty of fantasy appearing in our daily lives... It was interesting! Congrats on the entry!

Thank you very much! I really did enjoy creating this, so I hope to make more Fido content in the future! A lot of this was purposefully mysterious, too, but I hope I can answer some of these questions with more stories too.

(Fun fact, there was originally going to be two options - the whale story, as well as a story about a mystery on a train, but I hit pretty close to 1K words before I could write the second one.)

This was positively lovely!! The whole cozy atmosphere of the crackling fire practically made me feel like I could smell the fire myself while sitting here playing it laksdjfas And there was just something so warm and homey about the whole atmosphere.

Absolutely in love with Fido's design??? They are literally adorable. If I am ever lost wandering around in the woods I hope I am lucky enough to run across them LOL They're just so exuberant and full of energy. Love the way they tell the story and then how everything circles back at the end with the golden compass. Also just enjoyed that feeling that so often comes when people tell stories and how you never know quite how much to believe, how much not to believe, and are left wondering at the end slightly questioning reality and fate. A really sweet and warm little story! And also now I really want to see more of this char because honestly what a dorky sweetheart ðŸ¥ºðŸ’•
